Kick Off

 

On January 20th MLK day SAAC March Marshalls will check in with a March Marshal upon their arrival at Greater Faith Institutional Church (3514 Martin Luther King Dr, San Antonio, TX 78220), located across the street from Martin Luther King (MLK) Academy, by 8:00 AM.

 

  • Road closures begin at 8:00 AM
  • Check-In at 8:00 AM
  • The Pre-March Program at MLK Academy starts at 8:00 AM
  • March begins promptly at 10:00 AM.

        Position 7: SAAC and Kappa Leaguers

 

 

We also encourage you to bring non-perishable food items to support our Nourishing a Nation food drive. It is essential that all participants stay with their assigned group or organization. Attached, you will find the march route for your reference.

 

Parking and Transportation

 

Parking is available at the following locations:

  • St. Philip’s College (1801 Martin Luther King Dr, San Antonio, TX 78203)
  • Freeman Coliseum (3201 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78219)
  • Shuttle transportation to the start of the march will run between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM
  • Return shuttles from Pittman-Sullivan Park will operate between 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM.

Please note that in the event of inclement weather, the march will proceed around the Alamodome, followed by the commemorative program.


        Good Health Wins

Partnered with the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and the Center of Disease Control (CDC), the Good Health Wins Committee of the San Antonio (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi is committed to helping ensure that the underrepresented and unreached population of San Antonio and its surrounding areas receive the care that they are entitled to as United States citizens.

This is performed via the following:
* Fresh vegetables distribution
* Voter Registration
* Vaccine education/distribution
 
Join us MLK Day from the hours of 10am to 2pm  on the 20th of January and see how together, WE CAN make a difference.
