San Antonio Alumni Chapter (SAAC) Senior Kappa Affairs is organized as a standing committee within the alumni chapter.

All San Antonio area IHQ initiated members of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, who are 60 years of age or older, are eligible to participate in SAAC Senior Kappa activities.

SAAC encourages all Senior Kappa brothers to be active dues paying members, but this is not a requirement to participate in Senior Kappa activities and receive information about Senior Kappa initiatives.

The SAAC Senior Kappas established a tradition of meeting once a month on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The brothers discuss issues from the last chapter or BOD meeting, plan senior initiatives and just enjoy the fellowship over a meal. The meeting is open to all brothers in the chapter and we usually see several non-senior brothers who show up for the fellowship.

George J. Washington Scholarship

Scholarship Donation

The George J. Washington Memorial Scholarship was initiated in 2019 after Brother Washington transitioned to the chapter invisible in 2018.  With the encouragement and support of his family, the Senior Kappa Affairs Committee of the San Antonio Alumni Chapter undertook the effort to establish the scholarship in his name.

The scholarship requirement focused on the continuing education of a local area high school African American male seniors, committed to attend an accredited Historical Black College or University (HBCU). The major areas of matriculation were determined in accordance with those areas that were highly important to Brother Washington.
